LONGWOOD, Fla.--()--Domark International Inc’s (OTCBB:DOMK): According to iPad sales warranty company SquareTrade, the new Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) iPad is most likely as fragile as its predecessor iPad 2.

"It seems like the iPad 2 and the new iPad break in the same fashion," said Vince Tseng, SquareTrade's vice president of marketing. "The form factor of the new iPad is almost identical to the iPad 2."

SquareTrade ran an unscientific drop test where workers dropped both iPad 2’s and new iPads from waist and shoulder height, glass up and glass down, onto a hard, flat surface. Both tablet models survived the face up falls, but their glass overlays shattered when dropped face down. Damage to the new iPad's screen, however, seemed more significant; in one case, the display nearly separated from the case.

The hot new Solapad iPad accessory, developed and distributed by Solawerks, Inc. (a wholly-owned subsidiary of Domark International, Inc.) could be a big help in preventing damage to the iPad if dropped. The way the Solapad is designed, it is somewhat impossible to drop the iPad and have it hit flat on the screen, due to the shape of the Solapad. Furthermore, if dropped on any other side, the iPad is less subject to damage as the Solapad case material itself will absorb some of the shock. Solawerks, Inc. management is also working on developing a Solapad version to be made out of hard rubber for rugged conditions.

The new Solawerks Solapad is an electronic sleeve manufactured specifically for all versions of the Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) iPad. The Solapad contains a large, high-efficiency solar panel on its back, plus an additional internal battery to keep the iPad charged at all times. Future versions of the Solapad are being engineered to incorporate other items and capabilities that are designed to make a customer’s iPad much more powerful and functional.

The Company believes the popularity of the hot new iPad accessory is partially driven by Apple’s record sales of the new version of the iPad that some are calling the iPad 3.
