China Eastern Airlines Corporation Limited (China Eastern) is an air carrier in China. The Company is principally engaged in the operation of civil aviation, including the provision of passenger, cargo, mail delivery and other extended transportation services. It is the primary air carrier serving Shanghai. During the year ended December 31, 2006, the Company operated a total of 423 routes, of which 299 were domestic routes, 19 were Hong Kong routes (including one cargo route) and 105 were international routes (including 31 international cargo routes). It operated approximately 5,650 scheduled flights per week, serving a total of 136 foreign and domestic cities. It operates in two segments: passenger (which includes cargo carried by passenger flights), and cargo and logistics.
