China Telecom Corporation Limited, incorporated on September 10, 2002, is a wireline telecommunications and broadband services provider, providing telecommunications and information services covering voice, data, image and multimedia in 20 provinces, municipalities, and autonomous regions in the People's Republic of China. As of December 31, 2006, the Company had 223.05 million fixed-line subscribers, 28.3 million broadband subscribers, 145.7 million caller identification (ID) service subscribers and 36.7 million color ring tone subscribers.
