Imperial Petroleum, Inc. operates as an oil and gas exploration and development company in the United States. As of July 31, 2010, it operated 18 oil and gas wells in Louisiana; and had an estimated net proved oil and gas reserves of 337 million barrels of oil and 3,284 million cubic feet of gas. The company, through its subsidiary, e-biofuels, LLC, engages in the manufacture and marketing of biodiesel. e-biofuels offers soy methyl ester, a biodiesel made from refined soybean oil; fatty acid methyl esters made from various animal fats and tallow; and glycerin, a by-product available from the production of biodiesel. Imperial Petroleum, through its other subsidiary, Hoosier Biodiesel Company, intends to manufacture and sell renewable boiler fuels. Hoosier Biodiesel Company has developed a patent-pending production process for biodiesel and various proprietary processes related to biodiesel and biofuels production that are in the process of being implementation. The company, through its Ridgepointe Mining Company subsidiary, engages in the exploration of mineral properties in the southwestern and western United States. The Ridgepointe Mining Company holds interest in the Duke Gold Mine property, which comprises approximately 2,240 acres of unpatented mining claims located in San Juan County, Utah. Imperial Petroleum was incorporated in 1981 and is headquartered in Evansville, Indiana
