As of March 31, 2011, the company’s estimated net proved oil and natural gas reserves were 1,015,000 barrels of oil and condensate, and 735,000 thousand cubic feet of natural gas. It owned a working interest in 83 gross producing oil wells and 44 gross producing gas wells in North Dakota, Montana, Colorado, Texas, Louisiana, and Wyoming. The company was formerly known as Basic Earth Science Systems, Inc. and changed its name to Earthstone Energy, Inc. in February 2010. Earthstone Energy, Inc. was founded in 1969 and is based in Denver, Colorado.
