CryoLife, Inc. preserves and distributes human tissues for transplantation in the United States and internationally. The company also develops, manufactures, and commercializes medical devices for cardiac and vascular applications. It distributes CryoValve SG pulmonary heart valves and CryoPatch SG pulmonary cardiac patch tissues, processed using CryoLife’s proprietary SynerGraft technology; and vascular tissues comprising CryoVein and CryoArtery used to treat various vascular reconstructions, such as peripheral bypass, hemodialysis access, and aortic infections. The company also distributes surgical sealants and hemostats, including BioGlue Surgical Adhesive, an adjunct to sutures and staples for use in adult patients in open surgical repair of vessels, as well as in repair of soft tissues, such as cardiac, vascular, pulmonary, and additional soft tissues. In addition, its surgical sealants and hemostats comprise BioFoam Surgical Matrix for use as an adjunct in the sealing of abdominal parenchymal tissues, such as liver and spleen, when cessation of bleeding by ligature or conventional methods is ineffective or impractical; PerClot, an absorbable powdered hemostat agent used in surgery; and revascularization technologies, which include transmyocardial revascularization system for treating patients with stable angina that is not responsive to conventional therapy. Further, the company provides a laser console system for the treatment of coronary artery disease; and single use, fiber-optic handpieces to treat patients with severe angina. It distributes its products through field service representatives, cardiac specialists, direct field representatives, and independent distributors.
