Morgan Stanley China A Share Fund, Inc. (the Fund) is a non-diversified, closed-end management investment company. The Fund's investment objective is to seek capital growth. The Fund invests at least 80% of its assets in A-shares of Chinese companies listed on the Shanghai and Shenzhen Stock Exchanges. It may invest up to 15% of its net assets in warrants, structured investments or other derivative instruments (including options, financial futures contracts and various swap transactions). In addition, the Fund may invest up to 20% of its assets in other types of investments, including B-shares, H-shares, shares of Red Chip companies, and shares of China-related companies listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, the Singapore Stock Exchange and other exchanges, and assets that may or may not be China related, including shares of open and closed-end investment companies, common stocks and bonds. The Fund's investment advisor and administrator is Morgan Stanley Investment Management Inc.
